About the Intensives

The Great Earth School is a yearlong training divided into 4 in-person intensives — Embodiment, Wilderness, Relationship, and Leadership. Each intensive has elements from all intensives, providing a holistic approach and spaciousness to integrate all lessons and practices.

Embodiment

Vision Through Embodiment

The embodiment intensive is where your year long journey begins. This is an essential part of the curriculum, as the physical is the doorway upon which we will ground our journey from beginning to end.

To root your vision in the world requires a deep root of being in the physical world, making decisions from wholeness and potential.

In addition, guest teachers will bring practical teachings to undertand the mechanics of the self, attune to local plant life, and how to work with dreams to wake up your consciousness.

This intensive is highly physical. We will be on our feet, in movement for several hours each day.

We will...
  • Develop a physical practice that increases awareness of the ritual arc present in nature and our bodies
  • Begin the inquiry into your personal biography and how it relates to vision.
  • Identify the call of the soul.
  • Introduce nature-informed leadership and the philosophy of the earth.
  • Work together to discover your creative edge and move with creative life force

Wilderness

Identifying Your Question

Following the structure of a vision quest, we spend 9 days together in the wilderness. The core of this quest is a 4 day/night solo fast, with 3 days of preparation on the front end, and 2 days of integration on the back end. Our primary intent is to discover the question(s) that drive your life. In so doing, we will clarify the direction you will take in the following intensives.

The vision quest is the ultimate practice of breaking through barriers and entering into profound communication with vision and the earth.

Relationship

To Move in the Spaces Between

Building and deepening from our time in the wilderness intensive, this intensive explores the space of relationship between Self and Other. Each cannot know the Self without the presence of Other, through interaction, merging, separating, and love. Essential skills in guiding in nature and ritual, rites of passage, dreamwork, intimacy, and connection are taught and practiced in this intensive to help you better understand the Self in relationship.

In addition, David & Lila Tresemer will join us a for a deep dive into romantic relationship with simple and powerful tools.

We will...
  • Guide self and others with nature-informed rites of passage models
  • Attunement, connection, and dialogue
  • Learn communication, conflict resolution, and relationship practices applicable in professional and personal life
  • Introduction to myth, metaphor and personal storytelling
  • Continue to identify biographical patterns, ruts, and gifts
